The Goondiwindi district’s newest business venture, BAS had its official launch recently at the Goondiwindi 400.
Andrew and Helen Kluck, known to many in the region as Carpendale Farms, Commodities and Transport, have established this new business after suffering the loss of Andrew’s best mate, Grant Carrigan, in January 2017.
“We know that there is a need in the community for the service to continue, and it has been important for us to fulfil a promise that we made to Grant” Andrew says.
Border Aviation Services has an R44 Helicopter, and can source R22 and R66 helicopters when required. Craig Downes joins the Border Aviation Services team as pilot, with over 25 years’ experience in the aviation industry. Craig has been involved with many operations within remote Australia, where he has conducted a wide range of both aerial work and charter activities. Craig has worked closely with primary producers, government agencies, local councils and the Civil Aviation Authority over his career.
As part of the launch of Border Aviation Services, and in memory of Andrew and Helen’s friendship with Grant, Border Aviation Services is partnering with Tie Up the Black Dog Committee by donating a percentage of the income earned through until the first anniversary of Grant’s passing. “We thought this was something we could do to acknowledge our friend and offer support to other rural men and families dealing with mental health and its impact.” Helen said.
Border Aviation Services can provide the following support:
- Feral Pest
- Control Mustering
- Aerial Baiting Charter Flights
